On July 13th,

I was at Tablerock Lake in Kimberling, MO staying at Cabin for few days. My sons and I decided to go swimming in Lake nearby. I wore my regular Rx glasses to swimming cuz I want to see what my sons say in ASL. We swam to middle of lake that have floating dock. We all played, pushed each other off the dock and even throwing one off the dock (been playing rough and crazy  ). Until my son challenge me to sit on edge of dock pretending doing yoga. He pushed me hard and I flipped down and dived quickly in water. As I swam up the water to other side of dock. I climbed up the ladder to dock and laughed at him. As soon as I realized my glasses was gone because my eye were blurry. I told him that I lost my glasses down in lake. So my oldest son and I decided to try swimming down to bottom of lake, realizing it's too deep. It was around 15 to 20 ft deep cuz when I tried to swim down green water and it became dark and I didn't have enough air to continue and swam up. So did my son.

I told my sons that I have to let mommy know that I lost my glasses and she's gonna kill me.. I swam back to shore and dry myself and put on Tshirt then walked to Cabin. I told my wife what happened and she wasn't too happy cuz it cost $300 to replace because my Rx glasses have Transition coating on high quality lens (lens that darken under sun turning like sunglasses). I was kinda upset and it's wasn't my son's fault. I wish I had brought my Rx Motorcycle sunglasses that had strap with it that I won't lose it in lake.

Later in the day, We decide to go to Lambert's (famous for throwing roll to customers during dinner). I drove my truck without glasses and I had no problem though the road signs and speed limit signs was blurry to me. This put my wife to edge

After dinner, my wife drove the truck cuz I can't drive well in dark. We returned to Cabin. I went to bed and been thinking how to retrieve my glasses from depth of lake.. One thing popped in my mind, big magnet that can be found in Hardware store (5 inch powerful magnet disk with hook) or long magnet stick with hooks on both ends and use 20 ft Nylon rope to lower magnet and sweep it.

IN the morning, I woke up early and decide to go to Cabin Rental office and talked to the manager if they have magnet or something to retrieve my Rx glasses from depth of lake.

Guess what.... She said you can have Scuba Diver to get glasses for you. The guy who is a keeper for the campground told me that you can hire them and they'll retrieve it for you. I asked him how much it cost for Scuba driver to do the job?? He said "free". I replied "Freee... FREEE!!!???". He gave me diver's name and phone number.

I went to Marine store and met guy and told him about incident with my glasses. He was more than happy to get it. So he told me to go over and show him where. We went over and I told him it's located end of dock facing forested area. He said that he have diving errands to do and will be available to find my glasses at 6pm. I told him If I am not back, please leave it on table at deck of Cabin. He said Sure!! I asked him how much it cost to do the job? He waved at me, nah. I asked him Are you sure?? He said Yes. I told him Ok thank!! and we shook hands and departed.

Later in the evening when my family and I returned back to Cabin around 7:45pm. I found my glasses on table and it was partly stained with algae and screws were a little rusted beside it's in great shape. I cleaned my glasses and showed it to my wife, Here!! Scuba Diver found my glasses just for FREEE!!!

It was a BIG relief that I got it back and I called him just to thank him for his job!!

It was funny that my glasses survived 15 to 18 ft deep in lake and Scuba diver find it for me for free.

It would be a great Vacation story for me to tell friends

That was neat that diver did it for free.
I have a funny story too. I was looking all over the house for my eye glasses and asked my husband if he had seen them, he reading the news paper and wearing his glasses. After looking for 20 minutes for my glasses I decided
to see just what my husband had on! He was wearing my eyes classes and kept thinking he needed new ones !

Y'all are cracking me up!! Catty, what a nice organization they've got there that the scuba diver would do you such a service for free.

I lost my glasses when I was a kid and ran into the lake, all excited. A wave knocked me over (this was Lake Michigan - we DO get big waves there) and knocked my glasses off.

Oops. There was no happy ending to that story, unfortunately. My mom had to buy me a new pair, and she was NOT happy with her darling daughter having been so careless.

 That's funny!! Bet he felt nothing and thought his eye was going downhill.

I have another funny story hope it ok to tell! The eyes glasses story reminded of it.
We had a summer camp in New Hampshire right on the Pow Wow River.
My dad was in the motor boat and he lost his dental bridge in the water. So dad stripped down to his boxer short and drove in water to find his dental bridge while dad was in the water 2 ladies from a church came to welcome us to our new summer camp and try to get us to join their church. Dad finally came up out the water in his very wet boxer short and they where clinging to him ! The church ladies eyes almost fall out of their head as dad walked up to them to say 'Hi!" We never saw the ladies again! LOL!!

Yeah you can't find very many people that will do anything for free today!!

Yup, I just got lucky cuz I was ready to pay Scuba diver to do job. Its more likely he'll ask for $50 or $100 just to find glasses. To me it's worth it cuz my glasses cost $300 so it's better than paying another $300 to replace it. Cheaper that way.

 I betcha it stuck in their mind and can't concentrate in their "holy" mind. I don't blame your Dad getting denture, it's worth getting it than worry about someone else.
