Hello! This is my first post on AllDeaf; I look forward to visiting with everyone. I honestly don't know why in the world I haven't signed up before now, because I write a regular feature for Hearing Health magazine calling Living with Hearing Loss, which is a profile of individuals who are deaf/HH. Some people are famous, some are not, but all are very interesting (honestly...the not-famous people are WAY more interesting!).
I had an idea to do an article about first responders (fire fighers, police officers, EMTs, ER docs, etc.) and my editors liked the idea. I'm working with AMPHL to find some folks to interview for our spring issue, but we're having trouble, understandably, finding a police officer who is Deaf/HH.
If you work in a police or security capacity and are hard of hearing, or know someone who is, please let me know. You can contact me through my email address. I would love to talk to you! You can check out the magazine online to see some of the other profiles I've written. I'm hearing, incidentally, and I conduct interviews in whatever way the person being interviewed is most comfortable. It doesn't matter what part of the country you are in; I'm looking for a wide mix.
Thanks so much for your help!

P.S. Also looking for an EMT or fire fighter...help!!
