9NEWS.com | Colorado's Online News Leader | Local teen takes home bronze in deaf volleyball
Earlier this month, Shawna Stieb headed down to Buenos Aires, Argentina with the U.S. Women's Deaf National Volleyball Team. She recently came back with a bronze metal.
9NEWS featured Stieb in April as she played with her high school volleyball team.
Stieb grew up with very little hearing.
Last year, she received cochlear implants, which have slowly introduced her to the world of sound.
To play on the Deaf National Volleyball Team, though, she had to take off her new device.
She did and competed in the Deaf Volleyball World Championships.
