The public is invited to attend these local events that have been scheduled to celebrate the Oct. 31 episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which will feature Oregon School for the Deaf:

Salem Conference Center: A viewing party, hosted by Rich Duncan Construction and OSD, from 4 to 7 p.m. Watch the live East Coast feed of the ABC reality television show at 5 p.m. Celebrity designer Johnny Littlefield will attend. Light hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be served, and guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and enter a costume contest. Tickets, for a suggested donation of $10, are available at the conference center, Travel Salem, The Grand Hotel, Keizer Chamber of Commerce and VanNatta Public Relations. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of OSD Foundation. Tickets also will be available at the door the night of the party.

Capitol City Theater: Dinner celebration at 8 p.m., with the meal catered by Venti’s. “Extreme Makeover” will be shown on the theater’s 10-foot screen. Reservations are recommended, with only 50 spots available. Cost is $8 for a single, $12 for a couple. Buy tickets online at www.capitolcitytheater.com.

Northern Lights Theatre Pub: Special showing at 8 p.m. Here are the details, as posted on the theater’s website: “We may show it in more than one theatre. Admission is free. Minors will be allowed with parents. We will turn on the Closed Captioning in at least one of the theatres.”
