Well... my choice is both, actually inducing Macintosh too for my computer job purpose.

Linux - Ubuntu (Some people prefer the different kind like FreeBSD, Redhat or whatever that suit 'em)

Reason: I use it for open source mainly for security purpose and few other things for the school's network at my work. Sometime I use it as a server to keep track of the LAN's traffics and few other apps in it.

Windows - I used a lot of old versions long ago. What I am using now is Vista and XP Pro SP2.

Reason: I have many reasons too! :D

Sorry for cutting this short, I need to go back to work. So see you later in this thread!

Windows for me because of games and other apps that which is only on windows and never used Linux before.

Other, I'm using Mac OS X, that which isn't confirmed on your thread and use for internet at mainly and few other apps, I an use windows via boot camp if needed to play games or other apps.

I love Linux. I'm currently using Ubuntu Linux Gusty Gibbon 7.10 and thrown in Compiz-Fusion and it's apps in my AMD64 system. My "tuxbox" became a Print server/File server for all my pc and laptop to access to using SAMBA. Linux seem more stable than XP. I have gotten tired of fixing and hacking XP. I have 2 XP, One on old system and one on Acer laptop. Both are just crappy tho.

Linux's Compiz-Fusion and Beryl (Both are 3D and desktop animation ect) puts Windows Vista to shame! (Vista runs Areoglass and Window shuffle while Linux can do plenty more) Several of friends told me they hate Vista and wanted back to XP.

BUT one thing, Linux DOES have weakness. It is not yet ready for desktop. Requires Unix or Terminal command learning curve. It's kinda like between Windows and Apple.

Thanks
Catty
