Lightning Kills scoutmaster in california mountains

...thunderstorms sometimes happens in the California Sierra mountain ranges. They are called mountain t-storms, they happen when 2 different air masses crashes and forms over the mountains. You can get struck by lightning in a meadow up high in the mountains, it's a risk. Though, Sequoia National Park is one of my favorite place to visit. :D
 
:( What a heartbreaking to have happened. These boy scouts and leaders go on a camping trip anticipating fun, adventure and a learning experience, never expecting the worst to happen.

My heart goes out to the family members who have been affected by their loses.

Ravensteve, I don't feel God punishes people for being bad, as He loves all people whether they are good or bad.

This just seemed like a fluke of nature, but, with tragic results.

What could a 13 year old boy have done for God to intend him to be brain dead?

We all should pray that these families pain and anguish will be lessened with God's help, not punishment.
 
Not only is this bizarre... just the other day... 4 boy scout leaders got electrocuted and died at a big event with the scouts from all over America or something.

Also many, many boy scouts got sick with heat stroke the following week.

haha, that's where the lightning struck a leader in that park, so I mentioned it. :D

:nono: No RS, that is not true, God doesn't work like that. If He really wanted someone to learn their lesson, then he would have turned the tables on the situation to be learned.

To have God punish a person by striking them with lightening is not on his agenda. If someone did something bad? He would still love them just the same. He just wants them to realize their faults, and correct them, not strike them with lightening.
 
Theres a Reason why GOD installed lighting on earth.Its not to help benjamin franklin to discover electricy.

:wiggle: I didn't know God installed lightening on earth, I thought it was atmospheric pressure, the warm air and the cold air coming together. At least that is what I was taught at school.

:P Hahaha Feisty that is true, among all the other deaf and hard of hearing, paraplegics, and all others that have physical impairments. Did God also do this to them too? I think not!!! Good point Feisty!!!!

Raven, don't take Feisty that way, she didn't say that too insult you, she was making a point, like you said in your first thread that the scoutmaster must have been bad for lightening to strike him.
Then you said God installed the lightening on this earth.
Then Feisty came back with a good point in saying if all you are saying is true, then God must have taken away your hearing too.
She wasn't trying to be fresh or insulting, she was definitely making a point.

yea he is SO ANGRY cuz he lost his hearing and CAN'T ACCEPT IT AT ALL... if you read all of his threads/posts going way back since he joined AD last fall.. you will see that EVERYONE INCLUDING ME HAS BEEN TRYING TO BEFRIEND HIM... but he is SO UNAPPRECIATIVE OF EVERYONE... can you believe this??? it VERY SAD ... now he is saying that GOD IS PUNISHING THOSE POOR MEN.. BUT NOT PUNISHING HIM??? SO EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE.. YA KNOW?? :) he just doesn't get it :D

That is very sad, because everyone here is so nice and friendly. It's too bad that some people have to be this way and don't open their eyes to see that not everyone is against him.
You're right, because if God is going to punish everyone, he may as well punish Raven, you and myself too!!!!

i have overcome my obstacles!!! he should be able too!! but instead he continues to SEEK REVENGE!!! NO MATTER WHAT!!! what kind of person does that!??? :ugh: SAD, ISN'T IT??

i have made few great friends in here.. and met my "honey" through a great friend in here too! :giggle:

i have been through a lot.. and learned the hard way... and learned NOT TO TAKE THINGS AND LIFE FOR GRANTED EITHER! i guess he will NEVER LEARN (shrugs) as his mom still "BABIES" him at the age of 44 going on 45... sad, isn't it?

:wiggle: That is right Feisty, you have overcome your obstacles and you have learned to accept what fate has brought to you, not think that you have been punished, but, instead should feel that you are among the unique. I just don't like to see him coming down hard on you when you are just making a point, not out to insult him. You have the right to your own opinion, whether anyone agrees or not.

that is ok.. i am USED TO IT.. he DOES IT TO EVERYONE in here.. it is like the BOY WHO CRIED WOLF.. so NOTHING about him SURPRISES US ANYMORE :) but thanks for defending me... really appreciate it girlfriend! :hug:
