Lester E. Boettcher, 87 | River Falls Journal | Riverfalls, Wisconsin
Lester Edward Boettcher, 87, of River Falls, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1921, in Bonduel, the son of Henry and Martha (Burow) Boettcher.
Lester was a graduate of the Delavan School for the Deaf. He married Adelaide M. Fuller on April 14, 1951, in St. Paul.
Lester worked for the Whirpool Appliance Company for 34 years. He was very active with the deaf community in Wisconsin and the Twin Cities.
He enjoyed bowling, hunting, trapping, fishing, playing cards and gardening.
Lester is survived by his wife of 57 years, Adelaide of River Falls; four children: Gloria (David) Davis of River Falls, Ruth (Stephen Cheesebrow) Boettcher of St. Paul, Dennis (Lisa) Boettcher of Ellsworth and Ronnie Boettcher of St. Paul; six grandchildren: Eric (Melissa) Davis, Nicholas (Alicia) Davis, Renee Davis, and Taylor, Olivia and Naddy Boettcher; and six great-grandchildren: Bailey, Shakira, Tarhia, Zachary, Tanner and Talan. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, and Krissa Dougherty.
His parents; brothers, Herbert and Raymond; and sister-in-law, Dorothy, preceded him in death.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 23, at Rush River Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gerd Bents officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Urn bearers will be Lester’s grandchildren.
