Learning Center for Deaf gets $25K from CVS tournament - Framingham, MA - The MetroWest Daily News
Framingham's Learning Center for the Deaf was named among the 62 non-profit organizations in southeast New England sharing in the $1.3 million raised through a CVS Caremark charity golf tournament.
The Learning Center for the Deaf, headquartered in Framingham and Randolph, will receive $25,000 to invest in new technology to be used by its students.
The CVS Caremark Charity Classic, held in June in Barrington, R.I., netted more than $1.3 million, bringing the total raised over the 12-year history of the tournament to $14 million.
CVS Caremark officials, PGA Tour professionals and tournament hosts presented the proceeds to 62 Massachusetts and Rhode Island charities and non-profits earlier this month.
Other organizations receiving money raised through the tournament included the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross of Rhode Island, City Year Rhode Island and the March of Dimes Rhode Island Chapter.
