a little backwards on the topic, but...
when i was attending the ASL classes at nmsd, there was a non english speaking family attending our classes. so when we learned a new sign, we learned it in both english and spanish. that way we learned not only ASL, but i brushed up on my atrocious spanish skills, and the family learned english rather quickly. kind of a cool deal, i thought.
