I'm confused. I'm not a fan of animal testing in general but why where they not allowed access to outside pens while they where test subjects? That is so cruel.

1. there's no grass or such thing at labs.
2. costly for testing labs
3. uncontrolled environment (aka "outside") will affect testing result
4. what for? these animals will be subjected to experiments that would upset the world and they are likely to be either dead or disfigured.
I believe more and more animal-testing labs are closing down because of scrutiny, legal complications, and costly. Shame that most companies will not switch to manufacturing natural products otherwise that would deplete our natural resources... which is why they invested in synthetic stuff. it's cheap and resource-saving... yet harmful.
