Kentucky agency to hold forums for deaf - Business First of Louisville:

The Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing has set the dates for four town hall meetings aimed at shaping public policy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet KCDHH staff and executive director Liz Hill and other staff members. There also will be information presented about legislation concerning the deaf and hard of hearing that is being considered during the 2009 General Assembly. The meetings will provide an opportunity for citizens to express opinions about current opportunities for Kentucky citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The first meeting will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. CST in the banquet room of the Ponderosa Steakhouse in Madisonville, Ky.

Other meetings will be held:

• Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Walker Hall Cafeteria at the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville, Ky.;

• Saturday, March 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Big Sandy Area Development District office in Prestonsburg; and

• Saturday, April 25, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Campbell County Library in Cold Spring.

More information about the meetings can be found at Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Home Page .
