Since I live in a town that is very intelligent, and wealthy (I can submit several proof and sources for any naysayers) I see all sorts of interesting stuff downtown.

A lot of people do their own "art" and displays to raise money via tips.

I am 100% sure if I had a cardboard that said "Not Hungry at all, Will gladly take money" with a jar in front of me I would make money.

The question is how fast will I raise money?

I am sure I can gain a hundred a day.

On a dare one time I held up a sign that read "ESCAPED MENTAL PATIENT NEEDS MONEY QUICK!"

I was given enough money to buy dinner for the people who said I did not have the nerve to pull such a stunt.

Also interesting, cops passed by me and never even looked my way.

Would your "elite" neighborhood withstand panhandlers?

It has been banned in many areas where I live.

Unless you have a Permit.

There ARE people doing that here on a daily basis.

Right in the between condos that are selling (right now in this market) for 2.5million....

Since the OP mentioned "art", I'm not sure whether he is talking about pan handlers, or street vendors. :dunno2:

They are all pan handlers unless they have a permit. That is at least how it is viewed in our area. We even have to get a permit to even have a yard sale in my area.

I'm sure you would too, posts from hell. There are all sorts of people and I'm sure at least some of them would give you money.

Most of the people in my neighborhood use the talent approach. They play the saxophone or sing and then people give them money.

Wow --- Yeah, there are also talented musicians, displays, etc -- the "art" im talking about is bums on the chairs holding up a cardboard sign.

This reminds me of deaf people sellin' their alphabet cards in fingerspellin'. Is that an " art ", too ? :hmm:

Peddling is an art in itself.

I know a guy who does that in this very town. I will decline to say his name because he is a football legend.

I once held a sign up with some friends that said "free hugs" during lollapalooza in Chicago one summer! You would be surprised at how many hugs you can get from people!
