My friend and I are planning to go to a new Korean restaurant that recently opened cuz we want to try some Korean foods.

Which Korean food do you recommend us to try?

To entertain you until Jiro gets here, I'd say anything that is not moving or growing hair should be ok.

Start with Korean beef BBQ!

and the dessert, you should try Odeng, style fish cake. :drooling:

I usually ordered one when i was with ex boyfriend Jim V. bibimbap or Bokgeumbap , be sure to ask for fried egg.

if you dislike hot spicy then ASK jiro! i love spicy especially kimchi one.

maybe try with Bibimbap for your first time, be sure to tell them you want fried egg. if you dislike spicy then let them know you dont want to.

you know who Jim V was. :)

Frisky gave an excellent suggestion. It's a good start for foreigner to try. I might be a wrong person to ask since I detest Korean food

Whenever I come home and see that my mom's making a certain Korean dinner... I go :mad2:

Suggestion to try -
Bimbimbop (there are 2 kinds) - get this one with that black bowl (very hot!). An interesting fact about this food. When Korea hosted summer olympic a little while ago... the Americans came to Korea and tried BimBimBop & Kimchi. They find that BimBimBop is the best food to eat for weight loss program because the most common problem when trying to lose weight is that when you eat food designed for weight loss, you often feel hungry. With this bowl of food - you are fulfilled for pretty much a long time and it is highly nutritious and healthy - nearly ZERO WEIGHT GAIN on full stomach.

Kalbi - common BBQ meat that everybody likes

I would recommend eating Kalbi with "nay-mon" instead of rice (water noodle but has a bit of sour flavor and it's cold) YUM YUM!

I'm not sure what's it called but it's common. it's noodle with something. I'm not very fond of it though.

Pancake (some are SPICY! but there are several kinds. it's up to your taste)

for now.... try those. If you want to try more, I'll show you more. good luck! :cool2:

I have eaten noodles. I think its called cellophane. I notice that "clear" noodles always come with seeds, i think it was sesame seeds. They tastes not that bad but I am into beef, rice, fried egg and kimchi more!

I haven't tried pancake that serves hot spicy. I want that NOW!

I love super spicy food. I will have to try Korean. Bentley Wings at Hooter's

Spicy also helps speed up the metabolism.....part of the weight loss.
