FJC | News | Jewish School in Rostov Reaches Out to Local Deaf Children
ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia – The Chabad "Ohr Avner" day school in Rostov hosted a group of students from the local special school 48 for the Deaf children.
This encounter was the first dialogue within the framework of the collaboration between the municipal special educational department and Rostov Jewish community, called "Jews on the Don."
With the assistance of students skilled in sign language, the guests could not only converse with their contemporaries from the Jewish school, but also participate in a tour with the school of the "Holocaust museum" and then visited the Rostov synagogue.
On 16 November the students of the Chabad "Ohr Avner" day school will visit the school for the deaf.
