In NBA, many players sign 10 day contracts.

Let's say a player signs a 10 day contract. The player play and gets concussion or paralyzed. They're saddled with $$$$ medical bill for that.

All that for a 10 day contract?? I don't know anyone who had that happen, but the risk is there.

There is probably some kind of insurance for this. I doubt they are signed for cash only. NBA is union. However, NFL and others are often guilty of ignoring injured players after they are done playing.

I think the health insurance for professional NBA teams doesn't work that way, it might be a plan based as a group policy. All players signed onto any team are always required to be covered for medical in some form.

So for the player who signs up for 10 days, they might get part of their medical fees factored into the agreement.

If the player has special medication, care, or other needs that are not apart of the team plan, they have to take care of that on their own individualized plans. Probably not really a problem, since long standing players who aren't constantly free agents or in the D-league likely have their own insurance.

I think it would be coverd by nbl players union so they are covered. After all if would be injuries accured while on the job
