Saturday night my sister was not breathing very well, had to call nurse and asked her to call 911 because it is very serious, so she still use IP Relay, and they asked her which nearest city because they don't know where my hometown is, so they dialed St. Paul Police Dept for her, so they transferred to my county sheriff dept, then they sent out cops from my town to come to my house to look @ her, and the ambulance was on way too, so they came to my house as well, took her to ER.. I was home with nephews, and I had choices: go with my sister or be arrested for children neglect, so I told cops I would watch kids, they said thank you... I made a wise choice to stay home with my nephews who are not old enough to be home alone and they have ADHD, and I don't want them to do something nasty while I was gone.

Does it happened to anyone here before? Wish Centel was still here so he can see this but oh well. I was surprised that IP Relay can call 911/cops for you...

Thank you Racheleggert, I will have to remember that one if an emergency ever happens.

Any of the relay services can call 911 for you. I personally know Sprint IP Relay does. However, they HAVE TO ASK where you are calling from, so DON'T call IP Relay if you feel you might not be able to type!

Always call 911 from a telephone line so that if you do get knocked out, 911 will still come. IP Relay and VRS cannot tell where you are calling from if you cannot type.
