because running PS and PS2 in the PS3 and trying to play it in HD will only make the games look like pure shit, and Sony refused to acknowledge of the problem or that they are careless about the textures looking obviously different on the PS3 than on the PS2.

Here's a video of the comparison of running the PS2 games like Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy to the PS3.

At least the orginal Xbox games made better textures on the Xbox360 in HD anyway.

Same thing on PS2 too. I played Metal gear solid 1 on ps2 and it looks shit and decided to put it on ps1 and it looks suprme. I don't know why. Im not surprised.

Oh, it's also a problem on PS2? I didn't know that.

Can't say I'm too surprised since Sony has a reputation for leaving their consumers behind whenever they introduce a new technology or product.

For PS3, Does anyone tried to switch on display setting from 720p-1080p into 480p then it should better with texture on SD but how about component cable? Just throw HDMI out and replace into component to play PS2 games, if get better texture or not.

I bet that gamers don't test on PS2 games with component or set on 480p when play on PS3.

erm...I dont know about you, but even though I have a PS2 and played some PS games on it, most of the PS games look pretty much the same on the PS2 from the PS console since most PS and PS2 games dont run in HD or 480p.

But the PS3 is obviously a far different console than the PS and PS2 consoles cause of cell processor and blu-ray. sure, the PS3 console have little pieces of hardware for the ps and ps2 to fit in the ps3 console but sadly, it needs more just the hardware. it should've have the HD chip built into those hardwares or something like that, but does it? no. only the HD chip for the PS3 chip, of course.

I know you can still play PS3 games on an SDTV but obviously you know you will need an HDTV as soon as possible cause SDTVs are slowly fading in this generation...PS and PS2 looks and works just great on the SDTV with no require of owning an HDTV but with PS3...thats the different side of the story.
