Normal
to AD!!!The part about being ok to be different and how people seem dont want to accept that is very much an issue in the deaf culture with oral education and CIs. Many deaf people feel that we can do just fine being deaf if we are taught to be the best we can be not taught to be "hearing". Too many times, many deaf, myself included, grew up feeling isolated and different due to parents or specialists making the decisions to make us as "hearing" or as "normal" as much as they can rather than focusing on our abilities and meeting our deaf needs. What u just described is so similiar to our experiences.
