I have a cable modem that supports my phone & wireless internet This requires that I have the modem in the one location that has phone and cable connectors together in one location. My problem comes in when I try add the VP-200 in the other room. The location I want it in does not have easy access to the phone connection, so I can't have the modem nearby. I have both a sorenson router along with my linksys wireless router. I mention this because I was told the linksys has problems with dropped connections. Has anyone setup a wireless connection from the VP-200 to the sorenson router with any success?

The answer is no, the VP-200 isn't currently supported by wireless. The reason behind this is because wireless acts as beacon, aka lighthouse and does not offer reliable connectivity. However it is not final answer to your problem. You can try this85 Mbps Powerline 4-Port Ethernet Adapter that product would work, but expect there will be soft flicker every minute or so, yet better than wireless connectivity.

I have one pair of Netgear wireless powerline adapters and can work to connect it into VP from router in other room. You may buy them in ebay.

you need Wireless-N or -G Ethernet Bridge

VP-200 with Bridge will follow to LInksys Wireless Router

Try using Wireless N or G Gaming Adapter. It works like a charm when I use it on VP200 or SnapVRS Ojo. I had no problem with it.

The only issue is that the Gaming Adapter requires special setup by plugging Ethernet jack from Gaming Adapter to your Desktop or Laptop's Ethernet adapter DIRECTLY.. Then you'll have to configure Static IP address in order to have its Setup menu on Browser. But Once you set it up, you can forget about it afterward. It would store in firmware once you finished setting it up and you can always move it around anywhere in the house as long as Wireless signal can reach.

The advantage for Gaming Adapter is that it's TINY!! It's the size of your palm and lightweight.
