Just check on wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS3

Supported screen resolutions: 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p

If not work then I will just hold it until get new TV with HDMI input but who knows. I bet that you can watch Blu-Ray movies without HDMI input.

of course...even my xbox360 just works fine on my flat tube tv.

How about can watch Blu-Ray movies via standard TV?

You should be able to watch Blu-Ray and HD DVD movies on a standard tv. It will look a lot better and crisper with the proper tv. I once walked into a Gamestop and I saw someone playing Madden and noticed it was a really clear and colorful one, I asked an employee how that was possible, the employee showed me the PS2 had special cables for graphical enchanement.
I would suggest going to Best Buy or Circuit City and asking a rep to show you the comparsion between playing HDDVD or Blu-Ray on a standard and on a HDMI tv. I believe that the results will drop your jaw. I remeber my Dad having HD tv and showing me normal tv golf and then HD golf. I was amazed, because the HD looked much more realistic and the grass looked green like in real life, while the standard cable had noticeably less quality. It is hard to see why anyone would want to upgrade to HD without seeing it firsthand.

If already work then it would good for trip to somewhere for on vacation, can plug the PS3 on standard TV at hotel or vacation properties. PS3 would be most heavier in the game history, about half as tower case for computer.

Well since it should work on regular televisions, I hope it's not even a bad idea if I get the HD DVD player add on for the Xbox360 to be hooked up with my console on my flat tube TV someday.

They will. If not they would be very dumb thinking everyone is rich and be able to afford HDTV.

Sony stated, you can watch playback Blu-ray on both the $499 and $599 system. I wonder how does it work if the $499.99 system do not haver HDMI input. Now I realize that MAYBE there is an adapter such as HDMI convertion or something like that.

I think that HDMI would be unneccessary as S-Video input because when back in late 1990's, some people believe that required S-Video to play DVD movies then it's not true. DVD movies can work without S-Video input.

Trust me. they will.

other companies always include the orginal AV cables for other systems ever since the newer televisions started getting AV inputs in the mid 1990s.

I would wonders if PS3 can support RF adapter for pre-1990's TV model.
