I am having a Hysterectomy operation tomorrow!

May I ask u why do u need to have it remove? I don't mean to be nosy but often I heard many stories from women around and most of them really does not need it to removed unless it is life threatening. I have a friend who done last year, honestly I do not see it need to be removed from her body because she went thru menopause. Her doctor encouraged her to removed it because she went to see him about her abonormal bleeding which it is normal for women who go thru menopause. I hope it works well for u and pray for u to get well faster. Take easy next 6 weeks.

Yeah, I heard those stories too. Go through menopause, we have to live with it with heavily bleed and low emidea. Just eat alot of spinach, egg and orange to take iron daily. We will do fine. I know, the heavier bleed is such pain in the ass to put two pads to change it every hour back and forth to the toilet for a week. Paronarid go through the pants. It was awful embarress in the public. I always bring extra clothes and pads in my car as emergency.

I have fiboris in my uterus. It will go away when I will have a menopause. Important to eat alot of fibers, fruits and vegetabls to do excerise daily. I cant to have this kind of surgery to be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks. I can't afford without pay from both of two jobs. I need to support myself and family.

The doctors want the money to remove all of those parts. It is not necessary. We can live with pain then it will go away.

Opal, hope your surgery will be success. :ily: I will be thinking of you.

Your post puzzled me that's why I ask you question.

Do you receive full monthy pay from your Employer due your sick leave?

wow, it mean that you have to work overtimes to add hours for sick leave or whatever, not healthy insurance? Do you insured healthy insurance?

I received full paid from Employer up to 6 weeks sick leave. After 6 weeks, then Public Healthy Insurance paid me 80% to 60%.

Thank you

Ok, why not share with our health problem for us all to listen and learn.

I didn't think it is necessary until last year, my period is heavier than usual, and it is annoying to change the pad every hour, and last June I bought a nice dress for my friend's Prom Night, and my dress shown with my period on it and it is very embrassement. I cannot live with it, and my deaf friend was with me at Prom Night recommend me to visit Dr asap, which I did, and Dr examined me and said I must have it done otherwise I will suffer from anemia and my fibroid is thinner because of my age 44.

Everytime I have a period, I went to the toilet, and it is full of blood there, instead of urine - yellow - no, it is all red - eewww!! :eek3:

Sorry for my too much information to you.

I understand. :) no problem. It does not bother me with your too much information, learn more from other women help me to prepare for my future, who knows. Having fibroid and deal with anemia are bad things so I understand. Mine is opposed with u, I would have gone early menopause at 36, went on for few years without menses till I went to my dr and found out I have prolcatinoma so have to take pills to keep menses flowing every month. My dr is afraid my uterus would develop cancer if I don't take those pills to keep it flowing. GRRRR. Take easy and speedy healing on your way.

Wow so young to have it removed. Do u have kids before u had hysterectomy?

Yeah I can image going thru menopause with heavy period of blood flowing thru clothes and on bed. Some women hate that I can understand. I hate it too and wish I don't take those pills so I don't deal with it but my dr said I have to take it otherwise my eggs will become rotten and will cause problem in the future. I deal with pain on my left side all the time but no show on utlra sound and x-ray. I used to have cyst on that spot but it went away so dunno what it is to this day.
Other thing something bother me, my healthy friend who have no sign of problem in that area, she wanted her uterus remove because she can not stand her period and the way body deal with it as we all getting older.I told her that only if dr find something wrong then will do it but hers, nothing is wrong. It was all because her cousin had her removed and felt so good without it. She wanted this alike hers. I know what it is feeling alike wihtout menses so feel good too but I have to think of my health too.

Yes eat alot of healthy food, esp in fiber food, fruits and veg but what about proteins alike nuts?

If u need to have a surgery, u will collect state disability for few weeks till u goes back to work just alike everyone else do it too. U pay tax on them and u deserve to collect them if it needs to be. Yeah hard time with money, try to save $$$ for emergency like this.

Public Health Insurance in Germany don't cover the cost for women who want to have it remove for no reasons or surgical sterilization because they often change their mind to have baby again years later... I doubt either Public Health Insurance cover the surgical sterilization cost due my age. (I will go to gyn. for check-up and then I will know more).
Back in 70's most women had theirs removed because their dr told them they need to be remove. Time has change, more drs encourage women to keep it as long as it needs till something wrong with it. I do not know about health insurance here, each insurance has it own policy. Not all of them are same. Some of them are lucky to have 100 percent benefit and others do not have health insurance at all. I know it is sad but that is way of life in America.
