Did your doctor give a warning about everything? I'm not sure about CI scar but hair dye use bleach on hair.

The use of hair dye doesn't affect the CI at all, but do wait until the stitches come out before you use hair dye. When in doubt, ask your surgeon.

I would think you should wait the 2 weeks before doing a dye job on your hair...or maybe even longer til the scar is completely healed. But as far as a haircut you might be able to do that sooner.

Ohh you have a long hair? And ya wanna to donate some of your hair for needy people that have no hair or cancer etc?

Not too sure...ask the hair dresser and find that out? Ginsmile done that and also Tweetybird did too.

I would like that but my hair grow SLOW!! ANy idea how make my hair go faster???

You can use the Horse shampoo.. it's just a label but for women to have long hair.. I used it before and it worked for me.

On the notes I was given it said to wait 3 weeks after surgery before dying your hair. Not too long!!

That is really awesome of you giving your hair to Locks of Love! Hope you got the information you need...

i think u should wait at least 6 weeks or more longer.. i always write down questions to ask dr before i have surgery.. i remmy we had this talk when u asked me before u had surgery.. u should have asked the surgeon about that? not us.. thats my opinions....

Yes I would double check with your doctor but basically it is waiting until the scar is healed up. Different centres seem to have different opinions about how long it takes for a scar to heal up (that's why people have varying switch on dates!)

My switch on was just 3 weeks after surgery and I think the advice in my paperwork regarding dyeing my hair reflected this. However you are 6 weeks until switch on so your doctor might want you to wait until after switch on?

Also we can have different incisions as well - mine was away from the hair, right behind the ear and not very long. But if it was a bigger incision and right on my scalp then the advice may be different.

yeah r2d2 thats right.. but what if the chemicals get in the bloodstream and can hurt the brain? and what about allergic part? you never know? thats why it said always try on arm and wait 24 hours to see if you are allergic to it or not. if no redness on it then u can go ahead and dye.. but still with the incision trying to heal .. i still think its bad idea to dye soon afterwards.

if it was me.. i woudl WAIT at least 3 months.. but like i said ASK dr first.. :)

It shouldn't be a problem if the scar is fully healed. I was surprised that it only takes 3 weeks for my incision scar to fully heal but apparently it did.

I am assuming that Felixkat already has dyed her hair before and knows whether or not she is allergic to it.

There are also semi-permanent dyes that do not contain peroxide or amnonia that she can try if she wants to be more conservative than doctors' recommendations.
