Hello!
my name is Alice and I am a designer (hearing) researching on different VRS systems. I am currently looking at Sorenson VRS and I would love to understand better how the deaf community likes it.
Have you tried a Sorenson VRS? What are your challenges / favorite features of the system?
If you are interested in having a quick conversation with us get in touch and we will arrange a date/time.

Thank you!
Alice

I got the feeling that if we call you and it ended up you're trying to sell something to us...

First of all - I am not sure why you are researching the VRS's?

Did you know that VRS is for bridging the communication gap for hearing and deaf. The VRS industry is setup in a way so its should be as transparent as possible when talking to the deaf. All the hearing people just needs to know they are talking directly the the deaf/hoh person and they do need to do anything else special. Just use the service. you are doing everyone a favor. It might be awkward at first since the "middle person" is a terp and all they are doing is translating your voice to signs. You should know that FCC has ALL interpreters bound to confidentiality and accuracy ethics in these calls.

When calling to a deaf/hoh person, you as the hearing person do NOT have a choice which VRS to use as the deaf/hard of hearing person number is linked to whatever VRS company is ported to just like your choice in phones in your area.

Now- Having said this- we on alldeaf would like to know what is really your intention on researching the VRS's? You may think our first reaction to your very first post is harsh - but you gotta realize, We will do whatever it takes to keep the VRS at the highest standards out there as this is our lifeline in communicating with the rest of the world no matter what we use the phone for. calling for pizza, calling doctors, calling credit companies, or just calling our loved ones to say hi - just like you do .
