Honda stopped making it recently.... Now that they're rare kind and selling them at high price. But the dealership place sells 3 or 4 of 'em with good prices. They're in between '99 and '01 and very low mileages. Nice 195/200 HP with 4 cylinders. Good handling, too. I've thought about buying one, but what's holding my back from buying it.... 1) It isn't that popular, 2) I couldn't find details about its tranmission, all I've heard that they had good gas mileage, sometimes breaks down but expensive to fix. I've researched some even with reviews. So, I have 2nd thought about it.
Anyone owns it? Can you tell me more about Prelude?

I strongly suggest you to get it, and suggest you to get 5 speed. they arent seen around alot cause, its rare, expensive, high insurance cost.

Break down? what do you mean? they can go forever.. My saying for Hondas, "When they hit 100,000 miles, they are offically done with their break in period";)

I have owned a 1993 Prelude VTEC, 93-01 Preludes share the same engine/transmission designs, the H22A1, H22A4 H22A7, H22A, and so on. but all are same. I do lots of work on H22A series engine..

The 97-01 Prelude are execellent cars, the Type-SH has ATTS which is Active Torque Transfer System which acts like electronic limited slip differental.. helping you turn faster and bettter in hard corners.

Base 5spd is good enough and excellent all around, the i forgot which model, 97 or 98 Prelude SH beat the Dodge Viper in salomon course, skid pad, g force were higher than the viper.. I think it was Motor Trend, or Best Motoring. Not so sure who it was..

ANy more questions, feel free to ask me questions anytime.:)

Thanks for info, Shibby! I'm still looking for a car on and off. If there's no luck, then I might go for Prelude. ;)
Kal, I think you forgot where I live! I live in suburb of Long Island which is about 40-45 minutes east of NYC. Definiately need a car to get me to work and other places on LI.
