I am not deaf but I have been thinking on how the deaf think a lot recently.

If you can't hear language then what are your thoughts built of? Imagery? Text?

I really would like to know. Thank you.

I am not stoned deaf so I can hear the language. I do think alot of words in my mind. Pictures as well too. day dreaming..and ALWAYS thinking...

i think all of us are same ?? :dunno:

Hear the language? For instance?

Are you referring when a person speaks to me and I listen to their language or When I speak with hearing aids, I hear the language words or ?? :)

@coloravalancheWell, I am not sure if those with hearing aids would be the same as someone who doesn't wear one or didn't go for the surgery.

I am talking about thought. For me and for some of my friends when we think we hear a 'inner voice' in a language. People who are multilingual can be really intresting but that is another story. Anyway, it can be visual sometimes... it depends but usually it is just a personal sound.

But, for those who have never experienced sound how would they think? That is my question.

@SmileyGin Hmm. When you say 'think words in my mind' you mean the term 'HAPPY' would appear, right? You wouldn't re-use past experience of hearing the term 'happy' when you 'think words in my mind'.

Thanks though. That's intresting.

I am sorry if I am offensive but if you are in a deaf forum I assume that you are A-okay with everything that is going on with your life when it realtes to being deaf.

yes its inner thoughts like you. i think all are same? no big difference?

But if you don't know [audio]language how do you think in a language?

Again, maybe you just have a go at the terms you read and there pronunciation and then just think based of that experience?

I'm sorry, XD: I'm really confused.
