Hey guys,
I recently worked on an application for a programming contest. Hipfone - hearing impaired phone service powered by twilio . I didnt win but i thought it might be of some interest to this community.
Basically this is what the application does, lets a user who signs up to get a US or Canadian telephone number. They can also get a toll free number as well.
When anybody calls this number, their voice gets converted to text and sent to the chat window at Hipfone - hearing impaired phone service powered by twilio . A user can then respond to the text, and then that message is converted to speech and played for the person on the phone.
There is no human sitting inbetween, this is all machine translation.
So i am not sure if this exists with any other applications currently available or if there is any interest. But if anyone is interested, i would love if you could respond back and i can get some beta testers.
