Hi,

I'm a design student from Ireland, currently working on my final projects for my degree. I'm working on a project at the moment, which is to design an annual report for a deaf association (see the explanation for annual report below).

I'm trying to come up with something really innovative and different, some different way to 'package' it almost. Its very important that my design has some meaning or communicates the messages/ideals/characteristics of the deaf community. Just wondering any of you arty folk would have any suggestions?

*An annual report is an official document that all companies have to produce each year to give to its shareholders and the financial world. It contains reports on how the company is doing financially, sets out its aims and objectives for the coming year, and usually has a message from the owner or president of the company. This document is usually really boring, so I'm trying to come up with something, well....not boring!)

report design suggestions

break the report up into sections

for each section, use a graphic/photo that represents the section

at the navigation section, you can list the sections with the assocaited graphics so the clients can skip around in the document

start each section with the graphic

Break up list items into lists

Avoid using tables unless it is actual tabular information
