My 6yo needs new aids. We want water resistant hearing aids but I don't want to have to buy new ones next year if he has a hearing drop soon. (stable 1 year)
3 different audiologist have giving me 3 different opinions
1.--said basically I am a bad mother because I do not want him to have a CI--which at this time I don't--he still benefits from HA's (audiologist from clinic we go to for AV therapy)
2. recommending Naida S CRT says Siemen's Aquaris isn't powerful enough (audiologist friend)
3. recommending Naida Ambra H2O and saying NO to Naida S crt--she says Phonak rep said not as "waterproof" as Ambras--website says contrary to this but I don't understand why rep would tell her this, also this audiologist says the Naida S CRT only provides an additional 2dB. I thought Naida S crt were more powerful than Ambra H20 (this is the current audiologist)
Does anyone out there have the correct information?? or experience with these aids? Its a huge investment and I do not want to buy new aids next year--hoping these will last 2.5 years until insurance will help again.
His audiogram results: sorry new to alldeaf.com and not sure how to post this so here it goes
