Hello!
My name is Sharples88 from England, I am fourteen years old (14), I came here to find some answers and to see how the community goes on with being deaf. Unfortunately to my surprised I think I'm starting to go deaf too. Ever since I was Twelve years old (12) my hearing on the left side has been getting quieter, now it sounds 25 percent quieter than when I was Eleven years old (11). I think this is because I use headphones and play loud music. I also don't get a lot of sleep too, most of the time I go two days without sleeping. I don't have earing aids yet.
Good day everyone, deaf and not deaf!

to AllDeaf forum. Well, you need to go to the audiologist to have your hearing test the audiogram to see how much hearing loss you have. Then the audiologist should fit you the right kind of hearing aid for you to wear so that you can hear sounds, but not clearly like picking up words. You can learn to sign BSL or lipread if you can handle it. You are officially "Late Deafened" person.
