Hello All,

My name is Patricia Franco. I am a full time student at CSUN and I am a Deaf Studies major. I will be graduating this semester, I am very excited! I am working on my project which is focusing on hearing families/parents adopting deaf children. I chose this topic because I believe it will allow me to attain different responses from both communities to gain a better understanding of how each community, deaf and hearing, feel about hearing families adopting deaf children. Most importantly, I believe my project will allow me to better prepare myself for future career commitments while working within the Deaf community as a social worker because I will have a better understanding of deaf adoption.

I am not here just to post surveys or questions, but instead to get different opinions and replies from anyone who is interested in sharing their stories with me, their experiences, and their opinions about deaf adoption. If anyone is interested please feel free to reply back and I will be happy to share more of my project with you =]

It is way overboard to be asking us. It is still questions and also survey. Just browse around the forum to look up to answer your questions.

Here, it is to introduce us from Newbies who are interest in discussing or debating in our forum. I don't know anything about Deaf adoptions except with only one hearing parent who adopted a deaf child. :)
