Several men burst into the 86-year-old man's home in Loke Road, Lynn, at around 8pm on Thursday.

The lone victim, who is deaf, partially-sighted and has Parkinson's Disease was forced to sit down while the gang – which could have included as many as five people – ransacked his home in search of valuables.

In another attack just 90 minutes later an elderly woman was disturbed when a white man forced the side door of her home on Riversway, North Lynn.
She discovered the man fleeing with food taken from her fridge-freezer.

The burglaries came less than two weeks after the Lynn News reported how balaclava-clad robbers burst into the Wereham home of disabled 78-year-old Margaret Burgess and her 79-year-old husband Chippy.

The raiders hauled Mrs Burgess from her bed to search the mattress for cash – leaving her extremely shaken and nursing a sprained leg.

One of the two intruders also sprayed a mystery chemical into Mr Burgess's eye before hitting him on the back of the head.

The pensioner also suffered a cut hand, sore neck and shin before the ordeal ended when the burglars left with just £35 in cash.

After the latest outrage specialist police officers are still speaking to the 86-year-old victim in an attempt to ascertain what was taken during the raid.

He was unable to provide any identifying features of the raiders due to his poor eyesight.

While West Norfolk Police are not linking any of the attacks, but a spokesman encouraged pensioners to ensure their homes were secure.

He said: "We would encourage all homeowners to make sure that their windows are not left open, doors are locked and do not open the door to anyone who you don't know or who does not have formal identification.

"If any elderly people want to get any advice or more information about home security then they can call the crime prevention office at Lynn Police Station on 0845 456 4567."
