:type: Hello, I am a student at Humboldt State University and I am currently enrolled in an ASL class. Part of the requirement for the class is to reach out into the deaf community and ask how my topic relates or is relevant to your lives.

I am looking to chat with anyone who has an interest opinion or experience with the National Theater for the Deaf.

So far I have not had much luck, but I am ever an optimist. :fingersx:

Thank you very much for your time,
Joypeace:)

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum here. Hope you will learn a lot of us deafies. Any problem or any questions you want to ask of us. That is good to know that you are learning to sign ASL. So welcome aboard. By the way, I am Deaf. I have not see any plays from the National Theater for the Deaf in a long time. I used to watch the performance and it is really amazing. When I first saw the play, I could not understand the signs because they are from Connecticut(not sure of the state spelling). Every state have different signs back that time around 60's and we were all confuse. So that is how the National Theater for the Deaf start inventing the ASL so that we can understand them better from all over the United States and Canada. It is like an universal sign language. But it is not all over the world. Just only in United States and Canada only. In Canada there is going to be a new sign language call Canadian Sign Language(CSL) which mean someone want to invent different from United States. I hope the new sign language is not from the hearing person. If so, then that is wrong and should leave us alone if we decide to have ASL alone. :dunno: In Quebec, they have LSQ which is a French sign language a little bit different than ASL or is it? So hope you learn something about everything we all deafies go through in our everyday life. See you around.
