Report: Toshiba to Drop HD DVD | High-Def Digest

Looks like Blu-Ray wins the format war although I am somewhat disappointed that HD-DVD is no more but on the other hand, I am glad that Blu-Ray won because there is more movies I like on Blu-Ray than HD-DVD but I will still be keeping my HD-DVD player and buying some HD-DVD movies that is not on Blu-Ray

Yeah I heard about that, just like the old days that the VHS won the format wars with beta max in the '80s.

It's not official yet, but it's likely they will drop it within weeks. If so, it's all over. Toshiba is the primary supporter of the HD DVD format.

of course, Blu-ray is good and I already have compare the effect.

I don't know if HD DVD focus on sound? Glad to see that happen Wal Mart dump the HD DVD.

Yeah but I have to give Tobisha credit for making excellent HD DVD players

big loss for Xbox 360 owners

I'm going to wait until blu-ray player drop price enough to afford me a food for cat.

A few days ago, I saw on the news that many companies in Asia are stopped making DVD HD now. My guess that they will work on a new design for Blu-Ray this year.

It looks that many computer companies are considering to put the Blu-Ray drive on the computers instead of DVD this year. I bet that the price will not be reasonable this time.
