I am putting the Hating on people who responds to free ads and never show up or cancel at the last minute when you already made the effort to be there and waiting on them.
One person did the last minute no show as everything was confirmed last night and early this morning, That's ok to an extent since there was another person coming about an hour later for other items...oh hell, they over slept an hour, then said they needed coffe to get their day going so I figured they are 30 minutes away, 30 minutes to make/drink coffee and be on their way... roughly and hour? Hell no, 4 hours later they show up after texting they are on their way... I was pissed, wasted my whole day. Yes, did get rid of the cast iron tub/sink and scrap metals... But still stuck with a ton of scrap lumber... hopefully the ad will be answered and taken tomorrow for sure,

This is pretty much why I gave up selling stuff on clist. Unless it is something of real value people have no responsibility to respect your time and effort.

I'd just set it by the curb with a sign "Free! Come and get it"....

If the person was that late (showed up 4 hours later).....and somebody else came by or called to inquire about it, I'd also let them have it...and not feel bad about it. Ur under no obligation, really.....and ur time is just as important as their time....

That's the problem there, No internet service and No trash pickup since its not legal to live in yet (occupancy permit) so I cant set it out at the curb or contact next in line....
Besides I don't want the inspectors nosing around, I am throwing all the debris from the house it the shed so when I have it demo'd it all goes instead of paying $400 to rent a dumpster as I cant do all this stuff within a timeframe for the charges and terms of the dumpster. Ive talked to the Master inspector and all is cool as long as Im not making a mess, one reason I put a free ad for all the downed trees on the property. I kept enough for me for heat and that's it.

Got someone coming tomorrow for the lumber, I requested phone numbers for response, that way I can call them.

Sorry that you had to go through all this. I wonder if the cast iron stove would be worth something to a collector? You would have made little money dropping it off to be auctioned off. I do that a lot.

As for the debris, you would probably break them up in small pieces to fit in garbage bags. I remember getting paid to take away debris many years ago. I had like 14 or 15 big bags. What I did is look for garbages. For example, you would take one bag to Walgreen. 1 bag to UPS, and so on. I don't mean inside the store. I mean the garbage out side the store. In my case, it was dry walls.

Just curious, don't you have an internet with your cell phone? I use internet on my cell phone more often than computer.

Yea, I know what you mean! I was one of who helped somebody doing similar as yours, debris on side yard for a month, complaints comes in. Good thing permit was valid. What happened was that the owner bought house similar as yours and tight on money. She bought a bag from home depot that you could use to throw in debris and they come and pick up. I knew she will be pissed off after opening that bag. It was TINY box! like need 20 of them to fill in standard roll off dumper. Couldn't afford dumpster so put it off. They begged me to take it as a kindling so I took them and put in my backyard and yep I got complaint from city and was so pissed off. I explain that this was intended as kindling since I got woodstove. Charges dropped and they left me alone. I still have these debris covered cause I found easier way to start fire without need of these kindling.

Derek, no it is not cast iron stove. He needs one, he means cast iron bath tub. Claw foot tub to be exactly. It worth only as scrap metal.

I used to have a clawfoot bathtub. That thing was great. I am not a big bath taker but a tub full of hot water and a couple pounds of epsom salts and a big squirt of dish soap and soak and add hot water as needed will take a heck of a lot of pain away.
