Harris Co. investigators seek hit-and-run driver who struck deaf teen | CRIME | KHOU.com | News for Houston, Texas
Friday night, a deaf teenager was struck by a hit-and-run driver along Wallisville Road.
The 14-year-old victim was walking with her best friend, who is also deaf, and another teen.
The group was returning home from a nearby Jack in the Box when the car served into them.
The teens could only watch in horror as the 14-year-old girl flew helplessly through the air and landed unconscious on the side of the road.
She was airlifted to Methodist in serious condition.
Harris County Sheriff’s investigators said they’ve pulled a code off the side view mirror. They believe the driver was in a black 4-door Kia SUV.
Friends and family of the injured teen say she is expected to recover, and they hope the driver is caught.
If you have any information about the incident, contact the authorities.
