LOL. Best excuse in the book. I like loud pipes and have used loud pipes on all my motorcycles. I spend a lot of time out on the highway and I would prefer that another driver would know that I was next to them even if they can't see me. I've been lucky when it comes to accidents, but the worst was when I was on a quiet Honda. Woman changed lanes abrubtly and I just happened to be there. Fortunately my passenger and I escaped with minor injurys.
That is also when I started believing that helmets save lives.This was prior to Marylands Helmet Law and I spent a lot of time without one (young and dumb at the time). It was raining that day so I wore my helmet. When I hit her, the first part of my body to make contact with her car was my head. If I didn't have a helmet on, that accident probably would have done me in. I've warn my helmet ever since.
Keep the loud pipes on your bike...just do your neighbors a favor and don't race up and down the street. That is a pain in the ass when their trying to put the kids to bed
