I thought about getting my license but I have a very hard
time hearing on the radio. Just wondering if there are any other
devices that could help me on acheiving this goal?
My hub and his friends are involved, you can complete courses
involving search and rescue. I think it's pretty cool. I would love to
be able to get involved. Just don't like that me not hearing the voices
on the radio is going to let me.

Any HAM radio operators on here?

I used to have a neighbor and a couple other friends that were 'ham-radio' operators, operating their set-up from the comforts of their home. Although, I believe there aren't as many of these operators nowadays when modern technology has prevailed in areas of commmunication. Yet, operating these, there's a good side to it...being able to operate in remote areas...using it during emergencies when power has been cut-off, etc.,.... As far as having any sort of device that could enable you to clearly understand what's being broadcasted, I'm not aware of any....perhaps try 'googling it' and see if there are any such devices that will help you. I did have an interest with this and wouldn't mind if I had one myself as I think it's pretty cool whether or not it's popular. ;)

Good luck! :)
