ATLAS of Sioux Falls, a nonprofit Christian ministry to the hurting, will sponsor an event for the deaf community, "Coping With Grief When a Dear One Dies."

The event is being held in memory of Darlene Vander Giesen, a deaf Sioux Falls woman who was slain in February.

Ramona Wade, a licensed therapist, will speak at the event, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the South Dakota Association of the Deaf Center, 3520 Gateway Lane. An interpreter will be present.
