Good lord. Any idiots worth his salt should have known that true economic recovery will only come from the private sector before even attempting at these TARP spending, porkulus spending, stimulus packages and govt bailouts. And now the unemployment rate is currently at 10%. Yet all this gets even more moronic when Obama lambasted businesses, wants to hike taxes, impose a number of mandates, and regulates carbon emissions that will hurt businesses and people of all income levels more than ever. That'll just simply backfire on his next "job creation" effort. Remember, the Stimulus Package didn't help keep unemployment rate at 8% or less. Instead it went over 10%.

FOXNews.com - Job Woes Hit Blue States Hardest, Spelling Trouble for Democrats

And if this keeps up, Democrats are going to lose big time their congressional seats come this November 2010 election.

It's bullshit news from FOX.

Nice try, koko.

*shrugs*

Depends on who you listen to.

Some says government spending saved countries from going into hyperinflation during the Depression.

hyperventilating much? :hyper:

We still have roughly the same amount of dollars in existence as when before the economy tanked. It just depends on money circulation (aka spending). So, that leaves the question - WHERE'S THE REST OF IT? Obviously, in greedy individual's/corporations pockets. We need to influence them to either spend or invest their stash, or pass legislation to tax those in the excess income bracket to put the cash back in circulation. Not go after people working to death for a living! Something stinks here!

And to think Bush passed legislation that favour corporates. ;)

Thus the mess we're in. I cringe to know our tax dollars are financing Bush's and every congressman/woman's benefits when they have the cash to fund it themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if we go the way of Rome: a socioeconomic meltdown!

I think we should cut taxes further, to really drive a nail through the hearts of the lower and middle class. Then, when we all get so desperate for food we will do anything, you rich people can hire us to cut your grass while you insult us and pelt us with beercans.

You could create a traveling show, where you have games like "Watch the bums go crazy for a dollar" and "What will they do for a pair of new shoes?"

Europe and Japan has been out of recession because of economy stimulus so government spending does help with economy.

Kokonut, you are clueless.

Not exactly... government spending acts as a buffer to prevent the economy from going into hyperinflation. They are meant to calmate people from spiraling themselves down to nothingless.

It won't pull people out of recessions, but it does slow it down so it won't go out of control.

That was what my hubby told me and he works for the Federal Govt...his boss is Obama. :D

So what do you want the government to do, do nothing and let the economy get worse than ever? You'd blame Obama anyway!
