Govt is committed to welfare of deaf persons: Tariq Azim

ISLAMABAD: Affirming the government’s firm commitment to work for the welfare and betterment of deaf persons, Minister of State for Information Tariq Azim has said that a number of steps has been taken in this regard.

State Minister who was speaking on the launching of special news bulletin for deaf persons here in the PTV Islamabad Center Monday said that PTV by stating that special bulletin has achieved another landmark.

Tariq Azim said that after the start of this bulletin, not only deaf persons in the country would know the latest developments in the world but also deaf persons around the world would be aware the situation in Pakistan as the bulletin would also telecast on PTV Global and PTV World.

Commending the role of PTV, the State Minister has congratulated the Managing Director of PTV, Ashraf Azim and his team for the starting of the special bulletin. The special bulletin would telecast at 9 in the morning daily.

He expressed hope that PTV would also telecast religious programmes for deaf persons to impart the teaching of Islam in its true perspective to deaf persons.
