Hi. I have placed an order on GoAmerica last Friday night. I went into Garth Wireless website to order Blackberry 7290 for free with no credit check and rebates.

Excluding weekends, how long will it for the service to be activated once FedEx shipped Blackberry like around Wednesday or Thursady? I could choose $15.00 FedEx 2nd Day but I saved money by choosing FedEx Ground.

GoAmerica sent me a thank you e-mail message to my e-mail account but haven't heard from GoAmerica yet. I can't wait to use Blackberry. :)

As you can see in the website, http://www.garthwireless.com/, I'd like to have Palm Treo 700w but because I have no credit and I can't wait to have credit, my only choice is this:

By choosing this, I saved my money. But the only thing that's a bit overpriced is a $50 activation fee, but I will get $50 from my mom for my birthday (November 23). No big of a deal. :)

How will this work when I sign up with GoAmerica with no credit check that I saw in Garth Wireless website?

OK, never mind. Garth Wireless shipped the Blackberry 7290 yesterday, so I should be getting it tomorrow or Thursday.

Not sure.

I just contacted them using this form....

Will let you know what they have to say. I am still not sure if I should get the Blackberry or the Sidekick 3 and I hope the Sidekick 3 itself will be for free and all I have to do is just pay the monthly service and activitation costs.

I sent them e-mail on the contact form and this is what they said......

Your email has been submitted. You should hear from us within 24 hours.
Thank you !

I get no credit check when signing up with GoAmerica when I place my order on Blackberry 7290.

You have to have a good credit rating when signing up for a service and order a pager which require a credit check.

As for Sidekick (any version of Sidekick), I prefer Blackberry's user interface over Sidekick, because I like the icons stacked across and down, but with Blackberry, to navigate to the next/previous row, I had to hold down the Alt key and roll the trackwheel up/down, which can be cumbersome, but I can hendle it. :)

Yes, that is correct, you will pay activation fee (just once) $49.00, monthly $39.95 and shipping $8.00 total $96.95. I do not know when it will be expired but I believe it is remaining.

SK 3 is not released until in July.

Regards,

Garth Wireless

I've received my Blackberry 7290, and I'm verry happy for that, however, I'm not able to browse the Internet in Blackberry, so I'm thinking the service will be activated maybe tomorrow but I'm not sure, so I'm new to GoAmerica service.

Now I have a question. Since the Blackberry are so small to my eyes, I'm trying to get used to "thumb-type" in Blackberry. Any tips on how to increase my "thumb-typing" speed? Two of my thumbs are big on the keys and my thumbs doesn't seem to move very fast to know which letters to press. I'm used to ASDF/JKL; home keys in desktop/notebook keyboards as I type about 50 words a minute.

OK Never mind. The Internet's working now in Blackberry. I'm able to download IP-Relay and other BlackBerry software from the Internet!

Whew-hooo I'm a happy Blackberry user! Now I don't have to use my Motorola V710 cell phone anymore with my Ameriphone Q90-D! :)
