According to weatherunderground, weather dot com, NOAA and our local NBC TV affiliate, I was to understand at 6 AM this morning that today's local weather would be fog in the AM, lifting by 10 AM. High in the 70's today and bright sunshine! Ideal Chamber of Commerce weather for this time of the year. Woo Hoo!None of the funny weathermen didn't say yes to go off shore fishing this morning, like I did!

K, we are going to go off shore in search of grouper and sea bass. Yes! Depart 8 AM, fog as think as pea soup, visibility less than 1/4 mile (my guessetimate, using my gross eye) and the air temperature in the 50's, ocean temperature 59 degree's F. Due to the fog we do not travel faster than 10 MPH the entire trip. I thank the good Lord for Radar and more. Add in our luck this day of drift fishing (with the hope of catching grouper) in one spot off shore, unbeknownst to us that our US Navy was going to be conducting training exercise's on the spot we were catching legal size (longer than 12") sea bass, so our local huge sized US Coast Guard cutter asks us to move more than 2 miles further south (towards Jacksonville, FL) so as not to interfere with the US Navy training. No problem in moving, 'cept we never got another nibble the rest of the trip. In complete openness, I was 'amazed' out of all the spots to pick to fish, at that exact time in the Atlantic Ocean, more than 13 miles off shore, more than 5 miles south of St Marys Inlet, Florida/Georgia border, we're asked to leave/relocate. It happened so fast, fishing, lalala ... next thing we know there is a large cutter off our stern. What are the odds!
I do remember overhearing many funny one liners/comments that had me laughing as we were making ready to leave that spot. One, to the best of my recollect was: "Dang, Obama ain't been President a month and allready he has ruined my fishing!" LOL LOL LOL! I had fun, it was exciting.
I Luv funny weatherman!
Note: no pics this trip, as one of our gang had fillet'd our catch as the rest of us cleaned equipment and da boat. Dang, he is fast! Fresh sea bass filets this evening for dinner in our home. smile
It's all good.
