The Jamestown Philomenian Library will hold a free 10-week sign language class taught by Gemma Guinguing each Wednesday at 7 p.m. from April 6 to June 8 at the Jamestown Philomenian Library.
Guinguing was born in the Philippines and was named Miss Deaf Rhode Island in 2005. She voluntarily assists community organizations such as firefighters, community groups and police agencies to communicate with deaf people.
Registration begins on Wednesday, March 23. The program is free for anyone ages 14 or older. Pre-registration is required.
