I noticed when after I installed Ubuntu 9.10 last year on my Acer Aspire laptop. When I navigated through AD forum on Firefox, the Doubleclick ads was taking up time to load. It didn't load up till few minutes later. I realized that it's the firewall in Ubuntu. I decided to install GUI firewall program to enable me to configure it. It's in Applications--Ubuntu Software Center--System--System Tools-- GuFw (i typed "firewall" on search box anyway). I installed it then ran it. I configured to set it to "allow all" and apply. Finally problem solved and now my FF is navigating website fast and smooth..

So If it happens to yours, fix your Ubuntu's firewall setting.

Why are you letting Doubleclick access the internet? :) Anyway, I am glad you found and fixed the problem. The latest version of FF/Swiftfox is awesome on Ubuntu. Nice and fast browsing, just like Windows. :)
