Fire Heavily Damages Home in Point Loma - San Diego 6

Fire heavily damaged a Point Loma house Sunday afternoon.

A neighbor saw smoke rising from the house in the 3800 block of Ligget Dr., near Point Loma Avenue.

No one was home, but firefighters found a blind and deaf family pet inside the burning home.

The cocker spaniel was given oxygen to help it recover from smoke inhalation.

Brownout are blamed for slowing the response of nearby fire crews. Firefighters from Hillcrest and Lindbergh Field were called in to help.

Damage is estimated at $700,000.
