I know that facial expression is grammatically important to ASL, but what about general fingerspelling? Does the person doing the spelling use the face or facial expressions? Should the person watching the spelling be looking at the face?

If anyone could let me know that would be great!

fingerspelling is hard to pay attention on facial expressions cuz we have to pay attention on fingerspelling lot. If we are skills at fingerspelling and look at facial expressions but for myself, I only look at lip reading with signs/fingerspelling. If I dont then I try to read fingerspelling instead... Some people has their mouth closes and I have hard time to understand it. I would say "again" or "slow down you spell fast for me!"
