I am not sure what to get for the boys..umm no more pets...something else, maybe a toy or DVD/Blu Ray movies. :)

I can't wait to see pictures. If you show her, I how to see pictures of that. What fun! I love puppies.

Congrats on the new poodle! They are the BEST!!! (In my very biased opinion....)

Which breeder, can you say? Have you had poodles before? What kind of dog shows are you interested in, conformation, obedience, agility, something else??

This is exciting. Wishing you all the best with the new member of the family.

I am missing my poodle like HELL! You're lucky to be getting a puppy! I hope it work out. I know when pets are given as gifts a lot of time the poor pet end up on a shelter!

*cries* Puppy mills!

*runs away*

:(

Champion breeders are a far different thing from puppy mills. If you want to buy a puppy, this is the right way to do it from a breeder that breeds for show.

I would never buy a puppy from a pet store! They're from puppy mills , I feel bad for the dogs are use to have litters after litters of puppies! My daughter's mother in law got a dog from a pet store and she was told the dog was a pure breed dog ! The vet it it was not!

I don't think he's talking about buying from a pet store, but directly from a breeder. I hope, anyway. A *good* hobby breeder who knows what she is doing, breeds to improve the line, does all appropriate health testing (Addisons, Legges-Perth, PRA, patellar luxation, etc), has had sire's and dam's hips tested (you want "good" or "excellent"), and so forth is a great place to buy. That kind of breeder will have a contract, expecting you to neuter/spay your dog by a certain age, etc., and will want references from you, like vet references particularly.

Off some ad on the internet with no reference to health testing, no guarantee, etc., is likely a puppy mill. Those should be avoided.

A good breeder should show you the five generation pedigree. You can look at the poodlepedigree.com site and trace your dog's pedigree, see what Champions are in the line, see if that particular sire and dam have been bred before and have their pups also been shown or participate in activities like obedience and agility.

If sire and dam are not listed in poodlepedigree.com, don't buy the dog. Or I wouldn't, anyway.

Aww!! How old will she be when you get her? Do you have a name picked out?

For conformation, will you be handling and showing her yourself, or do you have a handler you will use?

That looks really young and no hair. I will be interested to see what it looks like by Easter. :)
