Kids will be kids, 'nuff said.

Depending on age and mentality, kids will start being careful with DVD discs with responsibility at around 8 or so. Its impossible at 5 years old. Kids learn from accidents or damage to things, not by telling them this and that. Its how boys are.

I remember about 20 years ago, I did play with VHS and almost torn the tape so my parent scolded me so I learned how to handle VHS so carefully and not play with them. The price for VHS was $30.

Just take all DVD movies and put in room that make inaccessible for kids and they will ask your permission to watch movies so you just take DVD and put in DVD player and tell kids if they are done with watching.

Well, why don't you date a girlfriend or get a kid and see for yourself. :)

Kids do not understand what money is about until around 1st to 2nd grade. Our 6 year old boy is going in 1st grade and 5 year old boy is entering kidergarten this fall. Also, we have an 8 year old daughter who has a mentality of a early teenager. :/

I do not have the space for inaccessible stuff from kids to play any good dvd movies.
