Dumb & deaf woman found : 20th sep07 ~ E-Pao! Headlines

A deaf and dumb woman in her forties was found abandoned at Khurai area at around 8 pm today.

Members of Universal Progressive Club, Khurai Thoudam Leikai who came across the poor woman later handed over to Child Line, Imphal.

Centre Co-ordinator of Child Line, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal Mala Leisham said that the woman would be kept at Swadhar Home at Keikhu tonight.

A report has been lodged on the matter with the Porompat Police Station, Mala said, while informing all concerned, particularly the woman's family members and relatives to contact Child Line office on telephone no.1098 or her mobile no.9436023101.

Probably from some country that don't have respect for deaf people, I guess.

If they didn't know who she is, then how did they know this woman was deaf and mute since they used the word " Deaf and Dumb " ? :roll:

Maybe she has additional special needs as well. She sounds like she is really helpless, like an abandoned puppy that others have "rescued".

I googled "Imphal" and found that it's in India.
