DSL Modem issue?

Hi everyone,

I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. We connect via a DSL line. Every time I try to use MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, or Trillian, the internet goes down. When this happens, someone has to go back and reset the modem, and things are fine again. Also, curious, I can use AOL or AIM and it doesn't seem to affect the modem. Anything else, and the modem doesn't like it.

Any thoughts on the problem or how I can fix it this? I am planning on getting a web cam soon, and I'd like to be able to use it without having to worry about the stupid internet connection going on the blink.

Hmm Just dsl modem? No router? What company that where DSL from?

If no router then dsl modem really problem and call company to complain about internet drop.
